When you hear any noise, don’t just jump to conclusions; many things could be responsible for the noise. It is good to know that the reputation of anything you do or say depends on finding the truth. It is the best way to describe our mission to Rwanda.
Being on the ground gIves our new book a renewed lift, loads of improvement, exposure, and real-life Amazon KDP update. It is for the same purpose of mitigating the risks of assumptions that doctors don’t jump to conclusions about the medical conditions of their patients. Assumptions are fraught with risks.
We made the promise to the book launch attendees, and immediately went into the reality update of the ‘Don’t Just Assume’ to make it more authentic, and relevant for the readers.
People like to jump to conclusions about others, but don’t like others to jump to conclusions about them. We want others to show understanding with us, we read people’s minds and motives and make conclusions. Taking a moment to listen before judging can change everything, but let’s excuse the mind-readers.
For the book launch attendees, one BIG takeaway from the Q&A session about books of impact was not to make any decision to write while still angry, in feud, or under negative mood, because the quality of your book largely depends on your current state of mind.
Exactly the same way, many people feel that the experience of reading a book is heavily dependent on their own current state of mind and mood. Books don't just make a global acclaim. How on earth can you write an impactful book on “Healing The Hurts” when you, the author, are filled with anger, feuds, or fighting with everyone around, and not even happy with yourself? Can you give what you don’t have? No!

People assume because our minds are built to create quick explanations from incomplete information. This helps us react fast, but it also means we sometimes “jump to conclusions”. It‘s the reason for oir most recent published book - “Don’t Just Assume” which uses Rwanda as the case study.
Assumptions let us take shortcuts when we don’t want to find the truth of a matter. It makes one look awkward when the truth reveals it. Like the Elephant v Tortoise mid-night story, assumption can make you look foolish.
We tend to use our previous experiences to predict what’s happening now. This works well most of the time, which is why the brain relies on it.
Not knowing something can make you feel uncomfortable. Assumptions give the illusion of certainty even if it’s not accurate. Assumptions can be useful shortcuts, but they come with real risks, especially in relationships, decision-making, and problem-solving. “That guy is making jest of my dressing”. Mr Assumption is speaking here.
When you assume someone’s intentions, feelings, or thoughts, you may act on something that isn’t true. Assumptions replace facts with guesses which often leads to choosing the wrong solution, overlooking important details, misunderstanding, making rash judgments, acting too quickly, and foolishly when the truth reveals itself.
Opportunities can be lost simply because you thought you already knew the outcome. Assuming the worst can create anxiety, jealousy, or insecurity, and you feel unnecessary stress over something that might not even be true. Assumptions can make you stop communicating with your ultimate Helper.
Assuming that you understand everything prevents you from questioning yourself where real growth requires checking your beliefs, not just believing your assumptions.

The Survival Pressure is out. Every week, we give you new BLOGS of ideas written for your digest and to support good living.
